Purpose of the role
 

To assist the Team Lead in  company legal matters and render all necessary assistance to the Business and other departments in closing deals with proper documentation, to secure and promote the rights of the company in the transaction in the best manner possible

 

Profile – Roles and Responsibilities

1. Drafting, filing, managing, updating, vetting and negotiating  contracts across the organization Full
2. Ensure drafting, vetting of contracts and other legal documents  within the mandated Turn Around Time (TAT) Full
3. Ensure receipt of RFAs before drafting, vetting and negotiating contracts Full
4. Update the various templates of agreements/contracts from time to time Full
5. Liaison with external law firms and getting Due Diligence Reports as required Full
6. Ensure that Due Diligence Reports are organized for Leave & License / Lease of properties by the company Full
7. Keep track of litigations by or against the company, prepare & circulate litigation updates, co-ordinate with external counsel on litigations Full
8. Assist in the effective implementation of the Document Management System (DMS) Full
9. Examine changes suggested by the vendors/ parties to the standard merchandising contracts and liaise with the concerned department Full

 

 

10. Provide support to  the Team Lead  in all legal matters impacting business Full
11. Provide all legal assistance and advice on registration & protection of the Company’s Intellectual Property such as trademarks, patents, copyrights. Full
12. Assist in managing litigations, domain name disputes, settlements, legal notices across businesses Partial
13. Render all necessary assistance to the Business and other departments in closing deals with proper documentation, to secure and promote the rights of the company in the transaction in the best manner possible Partial

Indicative KRA’s/Budgetary and Revenue Responsibilities
1.       Drafting and Reviewing of documents within Legal TAT
2.      Updating the various templates of agreements/contracts from time to time
3.      Provide opinions & legal advice (in consultation with reporting Manager) as may be required by Business Team
4.      Keep track of litigations by or against the company, prepare & circulate litigation updates, co-ordinate with external counsel on litigations
5.      Keep track of agreement expiry dates and renewals
6.      Keep track of registration of company’s intellectual property
7.      Assist in the effective implementation of the DMS
Qualification & Experience (Education, Experience, specific knowledge, skills, understanding, attitude)
 

Education: Minimum: LLB

Additional: Post Graduate (PG or LLM) or global equivalent

Experience: 3 – 8 years’ experience in drafting and vetting of international commercial contracts
Knowledge and Key skills:

·         In depth knowledge of regulatory law

·         Demonstrate knowledge of, and experience with, laws dealing with government and/or     commercial contract administration, particularly contract negotiation, preparation and administration

·         Excellent Interpersonal skills
